This is less savory and more soft for me. It doesn't show quite the meaty richness I've seen in some other yamahai. Better to serve this room temp or warmer. — 2 years ago
Still plump and fruity as I recalled but also someone a hint of refermentation prickle on the tongue. This has been well stored in my cool cellar, so maybe drink sooner? — 2 years ago

Labelled as Autumn batch and lot # 213142, so assuming this was bottled in the Fall of '21.
Shows a vibrant amber color. Nose is more oxidative than I expected and the acidity is lower/softer than I expected. This is almost a pasada style which would be good with a gazpacho Blanco or other nutty dishes. — 2 years ago
What a very consistent and great value. This continues to deliver great balance, length, intensity and complexity vintage after vintage. According to the label Taylor Fladgate originated the LBV style (vintage character, aged longer in oak barrels and intended to be drinkable upon release). — 2 years ago
From magnum and server with a paella with both prawns and chicken. Delicious, complex, tannins in an approachable phase (though this could take more time as well, esp in this format). Wish I had more and that the bottle of Grand Reserva 2012 I had recently was this good. — 2 years ago
I've had this bottle in my cellar more than 20 years. It was delicious. Plum/prune, dry cured dark olives, caramelized/roasted meat juices on the nose. Elegant and slightly spicy with well resolved tannins and a hint of warmth to the alcohol. This was better balanced than many later bottles that seemed to chase the Parker style of big/ripe/extracted/oaky. — 2 years ago

An oldie and a goodie direct from my cellar. Pop and pour. Color is still bright ruby/brick, no browning. Nose: tobacco, cedar, garden shed. Palate: acid +, body 0, T +, some graphite and echo of ivy leaf in the finish. Showing well, but also a fine old claret, even if still slightly rough edged. — 3 days ago
