2 bottles decanted for 3 hours. Dark ruby/purple in color. The nose has dark berries and baking spices. Palate is rich with berries with a very smooth body and finish. Has aged nicely and could continue to improve. Paired perfectly with Chateaubriand. — 7 years ago
Flavorful young Brunello with a nice body of chocolate and cherry. Paired with homemade suga and meatballs. Great label — 8 years ago
Decanted 2.5+ hours. Dark ruby in color with a great floral and black fruit jam bouquet. Very light and delicate on the palate for a Cabernet especially when compared with the Alexander. Smooth finish with well integrated tannins. — 7 years ago
An exceptional classic wine. Pours dark ruby in color with fantastic notes of dark fruit and smoked herbs. Full bodied but exceptionally smooth, with unusually fine tannins for its age and a great finish. While very young right now, I can't wait to see where 10-15 years of cellaring takes this. — 7 years ago
Nose of blueberry and black raspberry open up to a dimensional full bodied wine, smooth to the finish. Paired nicely with a glazed ham. While 10 years old, surprising life left - should continue to develop nicely over the next 5 years. — 8 years ago
Thanksgiving round 2. Lots of life left on this. Floral nose, red berries, and a soft dry finish. — 7 years ago
Very light for a Bordeaux even with age. Paired nicely with a smoked Turkey for Thanksgiving. — 7 years ago
1983 decanted for 6+ hours. During decant nose progressed from musty/earthy to a lively leather, bark, and earth. Color was a fantastic deep garnet showing age around the edges as it faded into an amber. Surprisingly light mouthfeel for a Cabernet but smooth, with red and black fruit and graphite. Tannins are nicely developed and integrated well over time. A bit of acidity towards the end hinting towards a decline. Finish was short and uneventful. — 7 years ago
