Winemaker Anthony Yount... succeeding in his aim to move the Denner wines toward greater detail and finesse 'without sacrificing the flavor intensity' for which Paso Robles has become known. Attention and care in farming is the biggest factor, he told me, 'because you can try all you want to make an elegant wine, but it doesn’t mean anything if you start off with fruit that is not in balance.'" The winery describes its history: "After traveling the state for years searching for the perfect piece of dirt to grow grapes that would produce highly-acclaimed wines, Ron Denner finally found exactly what he was looking for in the far western reaches of Paso Robles in 1997. He began planting the first few acres in 1999, which has now grown to a total of 130-acres, consisting of 20 different grape varieties and counting. — 11 hours ago
