Corison

St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Alder Yarrow
9.4

I taste a lot of Napa Cabernet, but I don’t *drink* a lot of Napa Cabernet. But when I do I make sure it’s the good stuff, and it don’t get much better than @corisonwinery. Earth, lavender and black currant aromas give way to fantastically juicy and elegant black cherry, tobacco leaf, dried herbs and flowers, and a touch of pencil lead. Gorgeously balanced, with fine-grained, restrained tannins. Delicious now, but amazing in another 10 years. I just couldn’t wait that long. — 3 years ago

R. López de Heredia

Viña Tondonia Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2008

Vintage 2008 | Six years in barrel and four years in bottle before release. It’s a wine you must contain yourself not to smell only. A rich and exuberant smell with leather, stewed red summerfruit, brushwood and tones of liquorice, really beautiful and Burgundian expression. I opened the bottle yesterday and drank one glass, now it has a nice expression with all the aeration. Very balanced taste with refinement. A very nice Rioja that is a joy to drink. | Paired with tunafish and green asparges — 3 years ago

Bonny Doon Vineyard

Vin Gris De Cigare Grenache Rosé Blend 2019

Nice bubbly pinky color, with a slightly orange tone. Nose of nice ripe tropical fruits, pineapple, banana, and sweet vanilla. Nose is sweet and fragrant. Taste of nice acidity with sweetness, a bit mineral, zest, strawberry gummy, and apple flavors. Good flavors. Aftertaste is showing more zesty note and actually some warmth. Decent. — 3 years ago

Louis de Sacy

Grand Cru Brut Champagne Blend

It nearly seems a slight rosé gold colour in the glass with super plentiful bubbles. Glazed Nashi pear, spice, florals, nuts and saltiness come through on the nose. It’s captivatingly complex. In the mouth it has such a smooth yummy texture to it. Think apple strudel sprinkled with freshly toasted nuts.

I adored every sip!

Larmandier-Bernier

Vieille Vigne du Levant Grand Cru Champagne Blend 2010

🏅 Rating 94/100 (4,4⭐)

Golden color. The style is gently oxidative. The bouquet of bird cherry white flowers and the warmth of a freshly baked loaf. With time in the glass reveals the iodine character of Côte des Blancs and light creamy notes of Cramant. The palate is broad with Granny Smith apples, white peach and citrus. Lightly oaked.

Previously this cuvee was called Vieille Vigne de Cramant, but had to change the name to avoid the confusion with Cremant. Name comes from the name of the place: Bourron du Levant. East facing parcel in Cramant with vines between 56 and 80 years old.

Larmandier-Bernier is among the pioneers of biodynamic viticulture in Champagne. Always healthy ripe grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured in oak barrels. Spontaneous malo, no filtration and fining. Cuvee spends impressive 7-8 years sur lattes to gain its beloved complexity and depth. This bottle was disgorged by hand in June 2018 and dosed with 2g/l to Extra brut.

Kosta Browne

Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2016

It was wonderful to visit the @kostabrownewinery facilities in #sebastapol today.

🍷 We sipped on the 2017 One Sixteen Chardonnay, the 2016 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, and the 2017 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir. We had a tour of the facilities, taking in the stainless steel, concrete, and oak vessels where wines are fermented.

Loved learning about the founders Dan Kosta and Michael Browne, also Chris Costello, the three of whom carried Kosta Browne to critical acclaim, earning Wine Spectator’s “wine of the year” award for the 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.

The founders have since sold KB to @duckhornwine and the passion to produce exceptional wines continues with this label.

We also tasted a Champagne emblematic of what’s to come from KB under Julien Howsepian @jhowsepian
the current head winemaker. 🥂
We’re excited to taste this sparkling wine once available 🙌🙌
