Decadent, pure nose. Palate displays polish and poise. It’s a well-behaved, palate staining cab. Ripe tannins and bright acidity complete what is a super Napa cab. Drink this while it’s young - wifey is happy, again - hallelujah 😀 — 5 years ago
A barrel selection wine, the 2016 ‘Thea’s Selection’ shows nice white truffle shavings and cinnamon stick aromatics that mingle with the core of dark fruits on the nose. The palate is round and generous with a delightful mouthfeel. Rich kirsch and peat moss tones combine with the bright sense of minerality and soft texture on the palate. Layered and downright sexy in its youth, the 2016 ‘Thea’s Selection’ will cellar well for a decade or more. Drink 2020-2032- 92

PnP - medium garnet red with watery rim. Very floral and seducing, crunchy red cherry, cedar, spices with earthy and mineral notes. In the mouth it is very silky with good acidity. Tannins were quite present at first but mellowed out throughout dinner. It seems that the wine in general became more mellow with air. I understand 2011 aren’t for the long haul and this is quite enjoyable now — 5 years ago
