I picked this wine because I never tried one from Portugal before.
On the nose its black berry, cigar box and earth. The taste is dark cherry, pepper, leather and herb. Medium bodied, ruby in color. An interesting q.p.r. red blend. Paired with chicken, mixed veggie and pappardelle dish.
Wine enthusiast has it at 90, but I need to lower my score because its a bit too peppery for my taste.
12% ABV.
News Flash! After 2 days vacuum sealed in the fridge, the strong pepper taste is now mild. The fruit is more ripe, and now we taste smoke. Amazing, I bump the rating to 8.8 — 5 years ago
