The new #2020 #tempranillo from #camposreales is fantastic. This wine has a very deep ruby color which might make you think it was going to have high tannins and a bit of astringency but it is smooth and balanced. Medium(+) intensity aromas and flavors of fresh black fruit (cherry, plum, blackberry and blueberry) and hints of dark chocolate and after eight creamy mints. Sun baked lemon, toasted sesame, light cap smoke, lime pith, lemon zest and dried sunflower. Tertiary smells of mown dry grasses and hibiscus. Fresh lemon juice soaked white gooseberry zaps the palate into salivation even as the gunpowder alights. Lime pith honestly reflects the nose and lemon oils persist. Puréed green mango, and chive butter droplet peer just detectable.
