Faded ruby with orange highlights, nose strongly of camphor giving way to anisette and eventually rose petal. At this point very tight and reticent with tannins overpowering the palate. This is somewhat obtuse, clearly 2019 is needs time to come into balance. There is possibility here, very structured for sure…but red fruit buoyed by striking acidity with notes of tobacco/leather simmering in the background. My rating speaks to potential….2019 vintage.
