Provvido Terre Siciliane Rosso Nero d'Avola
First time drinking this wine; a relatively new (old) project in Sicily with guidance from Giampiero Bea. This is a brand new release and tasting like it. Extremely primary right now; all fresh blackberries and raspberries. Almost has a carbonic quality to it. The tannin monster starts to show up after about an hour of air. Curious how these will age...but probably best to drink in the relative new term? Really delightful and a hit with HRH. It was also a killer combo with roasted chicken and polenta.

1 person found it helpfulJul 13th, 2019Who doesn’t judge a book by its cover? The faux Olivetti typewriter font crowding the label screamed Bea and our aesthetic judgment was correct. The acolytes have done the master proud, this is wild: great tannins, a big blueberry note, pepper, leather, fennel, fabulous nose. Really in a great spot right now after 2 hr decant.
