Very deep purple in color with a short purple rim.
Fruity nose with oak, licorice, chocolates and Indian spices.
Full-bodied with medium acidity.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing blackberries, black currants, cooked cherries, spices, light oak, licorice, milk chocolates, tobacco, peppercorn and espresso.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Petite Sirah from Mendocino County in California. Fruit forward and rich with nice complexity.
Easy drinking with lots of chocolate notes. Nicely balanced and good by itself as a sipping wine.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 30 minutes of airtime, when tannins and structure come in.
Dangerously delicious, as one can go through the whole bottle without even noticing.
100% Petite Sirah grapes were grown at 1,100 feet of elevation, and aged in (30% new) French Oak barrels for 18 months.
I paired it with a Rib eye steak.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$24.
