Deep roots of Beaulieu were first planted back in 1900, when founder Georges de Latour noticed similarities with his native Bordeaux and declared the Napa Valley ideal for winemaking. A blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 3% each Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Purple with aromas of sweet dark fruits and earthy tones. On the palate blackberry and currants on full ripe tannins giving way to a lingering finish ending with earthy mineral.

An old favorite/standby. Opening up before dinner, robust cherry flavor, deep purple color, already a nice soft finish. Should pair well with beef filets and bring out some spice and minerals.

Not as complex (duh) as the George PR. OK for what I paid but not worth the retail cost.

It’s a good wine not a great wine. I don’t taste the fruit, so it doesn’t have a bunch of flavor. So it’s wine, I think it’s ok.

Good balance between the acids and tannins of cab and the silkiness of a merlot. Medium to full bodied wine.
