Honoro Vera Calatayud Garnacha

Medium ruby to purple in color; cherries, graphite, and grill plums; high acidity; medium tannins; tastes like blackberry sauce, eucalyptus, a hint of black pepper, and candied cherries with a long finish. Nellie likes it and so do I.

Dark cherry, raspberry, pepper, smooth, easy to drink.

Not sure how many times I’ve had this, but lots. Dark color. Smells like cooked fruits and leather. Flavors are fruit driven. Jammy (or maybe more like saucy). A berry and other summer fruit sauce. Hint of molasses. Maybe pomegranate molasses. Or a fruitier version of the plain old sugar one. Anyway this is a standard cheapie go to. Decent Spanish stuff at a good price point. Stays pretty consistently good. Vino bueno.

This wine was both voted last place and 1st place at our quarterly wine club blind tasting.

This inexpensive Garnacha rocks. Solid, medium to full bodied. Lasts on your palate. True to Garnacha. Dark plums and cherry. Spicy at the finish. Such a great wine at such a cost. Value is intrinsic to Spanish wines. Great with grilled halibut and white Spanish Asparagus with olive oil and rich mayó. Crusty bread and butter. Tres Leches also goes well with it. Salud, amor y pesetas y el tiempo para gastarlos.

Great garnacha

Color is deep purple indicating a young wine. On the nose leather, cocoa, stone and blackberries. On the palate very juicy ripe blueberries and blackberries. One might say jammy. On the finish you get herbaceous tannins but soft finish. If you like Cali wine this is your jam.
