Blackberry, black pepper, red brick and moist earth flavors. Well balanced, it has 15% alcohol but I guessed 14.2%. Tannins are present but not harsh. Good acidity.

This bottle had been in storage for some time; aeration helped, but I’d agree with letting it “open” go a longer period. Velvety nose, taste of dark cherries, currants, spice. Definitely tannins. We paired it with pizza but might suggest ribs.
