100% Tempranillo, about 14 mos in new French oak. Deep Ruby, aromas of dark fruits, spice, floral and earthy oak. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry & plum with tobacco, licorice and sweet cedar. Tannins, still tight, support the backbone of the wine, needs more bottle age. Well balance with acidity, full body, lingering finish ends with some fruit, oak, spice, and earthy character. Nice!

Firm tannins, still grippy, great balance with acidity, full body, long finish ends with fruit, oak, spice, and earthy mineral character. Just outstanding, needs more time!

May 24th, 2021Launched with the 1991 vintage by famous Vega Sicilia estate. The last vintage I tried was the ‘13 & ‘08 before that. 100% Tempranillo, about 14 months in new French oak. Love this wine; I’ll probably keep tasting it till the end of my days. Dark, dark ruby color; dark fruit, cassis, leather, and cedar on the nose. The pallet is a beautiful harmony of contrasts with pronounced blackberry, vanilla, with a hint of mocha. Long finish with the grippiest tannings ever. Looking forward to tasting this wine in the far future and seeing it soften up on the finish. Cheers.

Dark, dense ruby coloration. On the nose, cherry, currants, vanilla and strong cocoa powder. On the palate, vanilla dominates with cherry and cocoa powder mirroring the nose along with hints of tobacco. A long cherry and vanilla finish with hints of toasted oak. Full bodied with strong tannins. Upon revisiting the wine after around 30 minutes there was an additional richness and strong notes of chocolate.
