Decanted 3 hours.. ruby red and purple,, nose full of blackberries, pepper and oak. Mouthfeel - heavy bodied, moderate tannins, leather, spice, capsicum, peppercorn and vanilla. Tannins well integrated. Smooth and pleasant to drink. Long finish.

Very impressive showing. Brilliant balancing act between light acidity and heavier tones of mocca, leather and dark berries. Thought this might be too young but it was so approachable and enjoyable!

The pedigree is apparent with elegant medium to full body and very refined tannins. The fruits are fresh but a bit lean and compact, not sure if it’s because of the vintage. Oak is restrained but needs time to integrate.

My first Vega was delightful with beef and on its own. Smoke and pepper were most pronounced.
