Brown Brothers
Heathcote Shiraz
On the 8th Day of Aussie Shiraz, I drink the Brown Brothers 2015 '18 Eighty Nine' Shiraz from Heathcote, Victoria. If you are just catching up, I'm working my way through Wine Selectors 'Australian Shiraz Showcase' which is made up of wines from the Australia's First Families of Wine. We decided to team this one up with homemade pizza night - a lamb, red onion, olive, feta, rocket and Greek yoghurt one and a roast pumpkin, rosemary, feta and rocket one - diiivine! Both matched the vino superbly š
So what was the wine like? A medium red colour on the eye with bramble fruits and savoury spice on the nose. It really evoked thoughts of venison with a berry type sauce for me. In the mouth its full of raspberry and blackberries with a hint of smokiness and oak. A nice full bodied Shiraz with a very tenacious finish.
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #sample #tcweekdaywine #tctastingnotes

Enjoyed with BBQ steak.
Front, blueberries and currant flavours. Middle, provides mild green pepper with white pepper corn warmth. Finish, no menthol/eucalyptus and Iām okay with that but the finish was lacking length & character. The mouth feel, grip of tannins after steak was consumed. All in all nothing special here.
