Incredibly youthful. Classic Barolo aromas and flavors. Lovely balance and texture. Should evolve beautifully

Extremely tight and unyielding now but with solid promise with 10 more years of age. Tight black earth and black licorice overtones. Brooding and intense but relatively fine tannic structure.

Everything I had hoped for and more.

Bit muddy and maderized, lack of focus, but still lots of classic Nebbiolo flavors

Drinking beautifully Well aged classic cigar and earthy nose

Earthy (of course). Cherries, raspberries, strawberry, leather, and tobacco. Outstanding, and just coming into its own.

2001! Grand vin’

Very chewy and grippy. Cherry and raspberry. Very nice. Seemed younger than it it.

Maraschino cherry on nose. Chewy, long finish. Mistaken for a Barbaresco. Lovely Giacosa! 2001 vintage on 1/5/19 Nebbiolo tasting.
