Night 1 of the Fall WNH event in San Antonio. What a killer start to the extended weekend, all courtesy to Shawn and Jennifer for hosting! Tonight was Italian wines.
More baked pie notes from red and black fruit than previous wines. Cherries jubilee on the nose. Old rose and violet and a muddled herbal raspberry note. Very unique. Both sweet and tart on the palate. Extremely balanced. Thanks for bringing @Eric LaMasters .

Hmmmm. I know this is a great Domaine and was excited to taste this Barolo. But this 9 year old wasn’t even close to ready. Still so astringent and a relatively short finish. Also these babies are so devoid of fruit it takes a special sensitivity to appreciate them. Just not sure I have the patience to buy and wait as long as it takes.
