2009 vintage. Strawberry cordial, blood, hibiscus, aspirin, cinnamon sticks. Tremendous acid. This wine goes on for days.

Tar and roses

Most of the usual Barolo descriptors apply. But the balance, the tension, the generosity...so lovely to experience, even this young.

2009 vintage made in a style more reminiscent of a colder year. Definitely picked at the right moment.

This has come together remarkably since it's release.

Dear Maker - I a small humble creature dwelling on Earth, nothing more than a bulb of mass really; a skin coated sack of meat... and I get to drink wine this good? Really??

Barolo DOCG 2009, 14.5%. Bottle tasted in October 2014. "Piè Franco" gapes from a pre-phylloxera vineyard.
Typical Nebbiolo color, but unusual nose: very balsamic, conifers, camphor, mint, pine tree....
Then it opens up and reveals red fruits and a bit of confectionery.
In the mouth the tannins are still immature, but it shows good potential. Very clean, but need more refining time.

In honor of the producer's wishes, I will not formally rate this wine...but it's f...ing amazing!
