"earthy, truffled aromas marry to a full-bodied, occasionally rustic character backed by rugged, classic tannins. "

May 20th, 2015Most of the usual Barolo descriptors apply. But the balance, the tension, the generosity...so lovely to experience, even this young.

May 13th, 20152009 vintage made in a style more reminiscent of a colder year. Definitely picked at the right moment.

Dec 5th, 2014Barolo DOCG 2009, 14.5%. Bottle tasted in October 2014. "Piè Franco" gapes from a pre-phylloxera vineyard.
Typical Nebbiolo color, but unusual nose: very balsamic, conifers, camphor, mint, pine tree....
Then it opens up and reveals red fruits and a bit of confectionery.
In the mouth the tannins are still immature, but it shows good potential. Very clean, but need more refining time.
