This wine is made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo Nero grapes from Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG in Tuscany. It aged over two years in Slavonian and French oak barrels and at least one year in the bottle prior to release.
It is a medium ruby wine with a secondary garnet hue.
It is elegant, dry, and balanced, and offers medium intensity of tart cherry, ripe blackberry, and plum, along with violet, licorice, clove, toast, cedar, nutmeg, tobacco, and wet earth notes.
The structure is solid with medium(+) acidity, medium alcohol, medium(+) tannins, and a medium(+) finish. The flavors and aromas are concentrated.
This wine may be consumed now and has potential for further aging. It also has a lot of food-pairing potential. We’re pairing it with a traditional spaghetti pasta dish this evening.

The palate features dried cranberry, leather, oak, cinnamon, dark cherry, cedar, white pepper, clove, mushroom, dried tomato, and tobacco. Medium plus tannins, medium plus alcohol, and high acid. A top notch Sangiovese.

Earthy on the nose and palate; more earth than fruit. Big, inescapable tannins. Would be interested to try again in a few more years to compare.
