Cask & Barrel
Winemaker's Select Lodi Cabernet Sauvignon
Another one of my interesting experiments on an extremely fruity wine (with some RS) from Lodi. I had it 3 years ago, and it wasn't for me. Decided to try it again now, as a 4 year old, and It's much better now, although this was probably not the Winemaker's intent.
Very fruity on the palate with medium minus acidity.
Showing black plums, cooked cherries, sweet raspberries, tobacco, chocolates, coffee, mocha and herbs.
Medium plus in body.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins.
Much more subdued now, and the high alcohol is well integrated and unnoticeable.
Very interesting to see how this evolved.
The nose is not very pleasant right out of the bottle, but was much better after 2 hours of airtime.
A good porch wine. Simple and too drinkable, so better watch out.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
88 points.

This is a simple Cabernet Sauvignon from Lodi California. Showing black and red fruits with chocolate notes, alcohol, caramel, mocha and peppercorn.
Full bodied with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with a touch of RS.
Spicy finish with soft tannins.
Good right out of the bottle and better when fresh. Aged for 3 months in Oak barrels.
I paired it with cheeses, nuts and dried fruits.
14.8% alcohol by volume.
