2017: tight at first but after 2 hours tannins relented and played nice! Tart cherry, savory mushroom, dark fruit. No leather/tobacco/lead you often get from Brunello… but a great wine at the price (24 dollars for me). Recommend with hearty foods!

Toscana wine evening #2
Typical Chianti Classico with bright black cherry and tomato leaf. A touch of savoury leather / herby side, too. Light & elegant on the palate with bright acidity balancing the fruit.
I prefer the Chiantis from the western hills vs the rest - not as burly & long lived, but so fresh & elegant.
