This is why I love Barolo. First coravined in 2013, again several times in 2014, finally popped the cork.

Aug 15th, 2015In a state that I feel like I'm interrupting the evolution of this wine. It looks like pale red Nebbiolo, but has darker fruited notes across the nose & palate. Light tarry/earthy character with some smoky truffle secondary notes emerging. Acidity is in front of tannins on the structure front, but that backbone and power are persistent. Nearly age 20 & showing quite well.

Dec 28th, 2016An interesting balance of secondary savoriness, spicy black tea-like tannins, darker than expected fruit and tons of acidic structure. Evolving & fascinating.
