Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of several hours. The 2023 “San Bartolomeo” pours a deep ruby color with a transparent core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. This really needed air and showed better after an hour+ of being open. What unfurled was an elegant and quite beautiful expression of Dolcetto showing notes of fresh black berries, blueberries, purple flowers with the stems, a mix of dried herbs and warm spices with dry gravelly earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+ and slightly savory. A precise and technically brilliant Dolcetto. Drink now through 2030. Thanks for the assist @Lyle Fass

Pure joy. More later. Nose is stunning and floral and the palate is god tier juicy with ripe and sweet tannin and gorgeous berry fruit and uncanny freshness.
