Had to take a breath there before I said anything. Chappellet doesn't have the words "disappointing" or "mediocre" in its vocabulary. Phillip Titus is the bomb, and the mountain cuveé is arguably Chappellet's best bottle, most certainly for the price of only $30! The nose on this one was almost the best part, of which I could have been lost in for what seemed a lifetime. Fresh pencil shavings, fresh brewed espresso, anise, dried tobacco leaf, wet slate, dried violet petals, and smoke engulfed the entirety of my nostrils. Dark purple and very concentrated, the pallet exhibited notes of smoked chocolate, dark mulled berries, luxardo cherries, graphite, white pepper, and ending in a finale of mocha goodness, all wrapped together in a perfect tension of acidity and flawless tannin structure.
I almost didn't write about this one. I just wanted to sit back and relax, letting the cuveé show me around the mountain. #titus#chappellet#pritchardhill#bliss

Dark red color with aromas of black fruits. The palate of this 5 grape blend shows layers of rich fruit, blueberry and blackberry, with toasty woodsy spice. Aged in French oak barrels the wine yields hints of cacao and pepper and round tannins on this young vintage. Smooth finish.
