Blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, deep Ruby with aromas of dark fruits, floral spice and smoky cedar notes, aged 12 months in 60% new barrels. On the palate flavors of fresh blackberry, plum and black cherry with cacao, tobacco, licorice and smoky spice. Fine grainy tannins, well balanced on long finish, ending with fruit, cedar, smoke and earthy mineral character. Very nice, will age well but wait a few more years to really enjoy!

What a wine, one to have in your cellar for sure. Tonight I have opened the 2018 Château Branaire-Ducru Saint-Julien. A blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc.

On the nose is dark cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, chocolate, herbal notes, tobacco, violats, vanilla and dark earth.

On the palate is dark cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, herbaceousness, cedar, graphite, sweet tobacco and earth.

This beautiful wine is full bodied with a smooth silky mouthfeel, medium+ acidity and medium+ grippy mouthcoating tannin that fills your mouth with a long black & blue fruit earthy finish. This wine has a long life and can sit in your cellar for 20+ years. Keep enjoying the weekend and stay healthy and safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

Wonderful Bordeaux blend from Saint-Julien. Super dry dark blue fruit seamlessly integrated with aged wood notes of dark chocolate, raw tobacco and leather (remember chewing on this as a kid 😁) and smooth rounded tannins. A great wine to just sip, reminisce and… wondering where the oldest vineyard in the world might be? You want to know? Refined. It has a lot going on but all well integrated, somehow showing age already but in a very pleasant way. Fresh, yet lightly oxidized with intent, a menagerie of fruits and soft spices. Very delicious, special occasion given the price point, want to try more Bordeaux of this status

Hanson’s wine tasting. Low in tannins. Bit alcoholic for my taste, but good overall

2018 vintage. Berry and cherry cough syrup nose with subtle mint and dill accents. Light bodied. Some caramel. Some finely ground black pepper. Plum and raisin fruit backbone. Super silky pajamas tho. Going down with a tealike/forgotten office black coffee flourish like nobody’s business. The finish (currently) is already accelerated to that of a 12-15 year aged Bordeaux. Too seductive now to say no. Mais oui.
