Another wine suffering from "Heat Stroke Limbo", a term I'll use from now on to describe the state where the fruit characters of a wine has not been completely "cooked" through by heat, yet is completely devoid of distinction or further complexity. Of course, wines can be affected by heat stroke limbo in varying degrees, whereby those less affected offer more complexity and consequently, joy. In the case here, I'm inclined to believe that it leans more towards the side of joy - clearly concentrated, with occasional glimpses to it's fresher side, and still offering spice, menthol, leather, and tobacco nuances. I'll refrain from describing the sad elements, but trust me when I say heat stroke limbo's a chronic disease for wines in Malaysia.

Deep ruby color. Aromas of plum, spices and oak. Pretty balanced, soft tannins and good finish.

This is a nice table wine that shows well young and after a few years in the cellar. The Merlot softens the tannins of the cab which are still present. This is not as rich as the finer château in Bordeaux, but at this price point it's practical everyday. I suspect that this wine has several more years in the cellar if you have the space and you're so inclined.
