Château Faugères
Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend
For about $35, all day! Chateau Faugeres 2010 - Saint-Emilion Grand Cru. Nose and palate of ripe cherry, vanilla. Some earthiness and veggies on the palate. Great acidity balances the 15% abv. Slightly new world if I was blind, but really nice!

Dec 31st, 2013Dense violet, with just a bit of brick red at the rim. Smells of dark berries, herbs, .. bubblegum and yogurt? Definitely a lot of tannins, but didn't feel like too much new oak; tasted more like tannins from seeds or stems. Quite a straightforward wine; powerful on the palate, and not much elegance. Finishes long though. 90 or 91 from me I think.

Oct 22nd, 2018Med+ across the board. Such a big bold Merlot dominant Bordeaux. Jammy with some touches of vanilla, smoke, and dark chocolate.

Apr 7th, 2015Lacks complexity, but good weight and power, and silky tannins. Decent.
