Château Meyney
Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend
A really impressive 2011, with unusual aromatic lift and palate density. On the darker side of the fruit hue - crushed blackberry and cassis, along with some coffee, earth, and woody notes. Tannins are ripe and polished which give it a sense of breadth. I think this will live longer than many of it’s 2011 compatriots. Well done, a very good buy at < 25€ .

Nov 24th, 2018This is surprisingly nice for a Bordeaux from a supposed “off” year. Nose has cassis, cedar, blackberry, smoky gravel, iodine. Rich and soft in the mouth, tremendous length. Still seems fresh. Love it with grilled bavettes.

Dec 14th, 2022Still a solid player. Deep color. Ruby red. Solid tannins. Lots of strong cherry flavor and long finish. 41% Cabernet 44% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot. Steak tonight. Decant this one.
