1992 vintage. Has a smoky bbq note that echoes with dried lychee skin, baked grape, plum reduction, blackberry tart, dark croissant and old cinnamon; allspice and oregano under painting. Low texture and light-medium body shows oaken heart, tart cherry, spindly graphite skeleton, cranberry, red currants, pepper dusting, and white strawberry. Tobacco and cold brew coffee, light leather and violet. Could look better at twenty years, but I was surprised it was alive at all considering tough vintage. Not unpleasant, but lacks the depth and breadth characteristic.

1992 vintage. From a 6L bottle. Leather, cherry, mint, earth in both the nose and flavors. Medium body. Plenty of love to give still. No signs of slowing down.

I wasn’t expecting much from this. After all, I never had a 92 Bordeaux nor have I ever seen one! But it was good. Fully mature. Classic older Bordeaux without all those barnyard flavors.
