Chateau Ste. Michelle
Columbia Valley Riesling

Tried this in class and I am glad to have tasted, as this is absolutely not for me. It was far too sweet. On a more positive note, I could see someone with a sweeter tooth enjoying a glass or two, however anything more than that would make me sick based on the sugar content alone, which I remember to be around .2%. The wine had notes of citrus, which I look for in whites, but overall it was too sweet for my palate, and I typically look for a more dry white.

Compared to the dry, this is very sweet to taste. Almost too sweet. The sugar content is around .2%. This was paired with a salty cracker which made the sweetness really burst. Not a huge fan. It was interesting to taste the difference between this one and the dry. I get similar notes on the nose (citrus and ginger) but it’s very different when settling on my taste buds.

2023 regular Riesling. Super pale, almost transparent. Smells sweet. Light. Taste like lychee and grapefruit. High residual sugar ~2%.
