Chimney Rock
Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon
#AgedWineTuesday
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish brick rim.
Great nose of blueberries, black plums, currants, tobacco, spices, balsamic, vinaigrette, cola, cedar, licorice coffee, cinnamon, light alcohol and peppercorn.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, sweet cherries, blueberries, dried fruits, cedar, vanilla, leather, spices, earth, chocolates, vinaigrette, tobacco, herbs, coffee, cola, light vegetables, pencil lead and peppercorn.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap District in Napa Valley. Well balanced with great complexity and a gentle mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (1 hour).
Thank you Michael for sharing this with me.
This 15 year old, still has 10 years in it, but so delicious now. Spicy and tasty. Rich and smooth.
14.2% alcohol by volume.
93 points.
$100 (current vintage).

Deliciously succulent. Full of fruit punch in the face. If that's a thing.

Dec 20th, 2019Let this wine breathe for about an hour, and it was beautiful. Spicy on the nose? With cassis, black currants, dark and rich, some smoke and dark chocolate. Excellent

Jul 15th, 2018A little surprised at how tight this wine is. Big red fruits abound, with hints of cedar on the nose. Hoping this wine will open up in the next hour or so and show me a little more.
