Dec 25th, 2012Dark purple in the glass. Jammy nose of blackberry, framboise and smoked meats. Dense blue and purple fruits explode out of the glass, followed by tobacco and white pepper and a little green pepper on the end. Finish is quite long and there is more than enough tannic structure to hold it all together. Darioush always makes a bold, enjoyable Shiraz.

Apr 23rd, 2020Blueberry, framboise, saddle and a little funk on the nose. Dark chocolate, purple fruits, cedar and white pepper. Some residual heat on the finish but not out of synch. Definitely a food wine - went beautifully with leftover Wagyu brisket. Doesn’t show any sign of being close to end of life.
