HFS—maybe the best mature Napa Cab I have ever had and I have had a lot. Plus the wine is still in great shape. From an era when wine was balanced going into the bottle.
kudos to Al, RIP. Bought this bottle at my first wine job in 1986.

One of the best older California cabernets tasted. From magnum: silky, with porcini mushroom and white truffle in the core and acidity and umami on the finish. Hi @Tina Dickinson

Oct 29th, 2015Throwback to thanksgiving, this was an incredible, pauillac-like bottle that was graphite-driven upon opening, but got darker, deeper, and fuller over a couple of hours, showing complex development of blackcurrant jam, tobacco, and leather. A legend that lived up to expectations!
