Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours. No formal notes. The 2006 “Amber Knolls Vineyard” blows the mind. Yes, I know, it’s made by Schrader but this humble Lake County designation was meant to be enjoyed early while one allowed the more significant Schrader Cabernet Sauvignon’s mature. Yet here we are, thoroughly enjoying this 18 years from vintage. Fruit not only hanging on; dare I say this is still developing? Structure is sound. Drink now through 2030. Very impressive. — 6 months ago

A perfect pairing for food with balanced acidity and flavors of cranberry, currant, and vanilla. — 3 months ago
13.7% ABV Dark in color, still has foral aromatics, really good! — 6 months ago

Excellent drink. Used a coravin just in case it wasn’t ready to drink. After a few minutes it opened up with dark fruit on the nose and palate. No signs of aging in the glass (dark purple color, no brown edges). Tannins overwhelmed the fruit after 30 minutes or so in the glass. — 3 months ago

Juicy despite its age but still silky and smooth. I’ll be thinking about this magnum for a very long time. A Napa Cab that tastes like a Burgundy after time. Simply perfect! — 6 months ago
This wine is more about the single-vineyard terroir than the fruits. It has earthy and mineral flavors. it opened up after an hour of decanting. I prefer the multi-vineyard Diamond Mountain Cabernet from this producer. — 7 months ago
