I thought the 2005 would supercede the 2006 but not so. Lovely as always but with a slightly firmer structure to the 2006.

This 2005 vintage has gained weight over the years and now expressing peach apricot amongst other citrus fruit aroma and tastes. The color is also thicker and richer than it was in 2010. It has NOT reached its peak yet.

Everything you expect from this very famous name in a good vintage. Small bubbles, fine balance between acidity, fruit and alcool, long finish. And very pleasant on the palate.

Second of some 2005 vintages I’ve had over the past few days. While the DP is lively and seems to me to be citrus based, but with a lovely fine bead, it comes second to Bollinger LGA which to my taste just has a bit more going for it.
Having said that, don’t think 05 is a year to hang your hat on. Better before and better to come.

Like a boss. Toasty. No aftertaste or bitterness.

Predictably clean and creamy with notes of toast. A very fine bead in this young but well balanced wine. Enjoyable but not an 04
