La Forest Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay

In such a killer spot after a couple hours in the decanter

I haven’t posted in a while, but this one has me reaching for my phone. A stunning example. The mineral soaked lime and ripe stone fruit are off the charts. I’ve had this wine from various vintages dozens of times, but this bottle, at this stage, stored in a great cellar is close to perfect.

Great depth and intensity. This one really dialed up the marine elements. Fresh and salty all together

2013. Fleshy & powerful, yet loaded with tension and brightness. Texturally, this is about good as they come, aromatically as well. Herbal layers accent the citrus notes and while this is the picture of freshness, it also shows a rich, lingering finish. Amazing wine.

Acid, lemon, and chalk. I am delighted.

The 13 is banging! The minerality is insane. Salty lime. This one goes full corn tortillas.

Wonderful. Slightly backward, for the vintage. Was surprised that it didn't surpass Piuze on this particular showing.
