Domaine Faury
Collines Rhodaniennes Syrah
Balanced fruit, earth, and structure. No fuss and easy to wash down hot food from the grill Refreshing acid, light tannin and very modest alcohol (12% abv). Juicy blackberries, violets, candied olives, savory herbs, and hints of rocks. So delicious

Sep 27th, 2015Fresh, briary, lean, and refreshing. What a consistently phenomenal wine....and to think I worried about this vintage because the supplier dropped the price, and the ABV plummeted from 13 to 12! it's even better than ever. Lionel Faury can do no wrong. Buy buy buy. Feels very St Joseph. A perennial fave to pair with spicy fare eg. grilled chicken & black bean burritos or Indian food.

Sep 24th, 2015Ethereal northern Rhône syrah. Medium-light bodied. Elegant structure--pepper, wet hay, barnyard funk, and violets. Like a crû beaujolais but made with syrah.
