Domaine Faury
Saint Joseph Syrah
St. Joseph, Northern Rhône, Rhône, France
Love this wine. Smoke, dark berries, cured meats, dried herbs, chalky minerality, soft texture and nice acid. So good with a bbq’d piece of meat.

Black cherry, black olive, white pepper. Lingering tannins and salinity on the finish. A little big and tight now but should open up in a couple years.

Gramenon may be my favorite affordable Rhône producer in Kermit's book, but Faury is a close second. And there's actually enough of it to go around. Great to see a powerful vintage kept in balance, too. Is it shitty to start a review by naming another producer?

I like the way they pay attention to grape extraction and harvesting. This was sole reason why I bought it
