Tessellae Côtes Catalanes Vieilles Vignes Carignan

Lots of tangy ripe berries and rhubarb on the nose. Straightforward in the mouth. Dark, ripe fruit and quite a bit of coarse-ish tannin. Short finish.

Extracted, shows deep varietal character and minerality, rather than fat.

A bit ripe for Carignan for me though still a crowd pleaser style

Bone dry. Dark chocolate, orange peel, and black fruit. Needs an hour to open up.

Lively and bright. 100% Carignan. Fully extracted Spicy red fruits, plums and minerals. A little bit of eucalyptus/menthol on the long finish.

Enjoyable Craignan with dried red fruits and light baking spices.

Young, but opens up quickly. Great qpr. Good white pepper. Inlaws are over so I had to open something cheap that I can drink. This was perfect

First time I've had this grape and really like it. It's light and dry but really crisp. I like that it held up to spicy foods. I'm not sure it's my favorite but very drinkable.

Not bad for the price. Didn't find it too complex, thin aroma and a short finish

Was angular and a bit sharp and austere day 1 even though tart blackberry and underipe blueberries came through. Day 2 and its gained some weight on the palate with deeper blackberry fruit, licorice, pepper, some jam and bay leaf. Great QPR for the complexity.
