Domaine Serene
Evenstad Reserve Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
Willamette Valley, Oregon, USA

#AgedWineTuesday
Reddish in color with a wide reddish rim and medium intensity. Pretty color.
Strong nose of red fruits with earth, light wood, light Mediterranean spices, mushrooms, earth and herbs.
Light to medium in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with raspberries, cherries, spices, light oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, herbs, spices, light green tea and earth.
Nice finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a delicious 15 year old Pinot Noir from Oregon. Nicely balanced and elegant.
Feels like a red Burgundy, which I loved. Complex and interesting. Tangy and spicy.
I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent. Drinking beautifully now, and will continue to do so in the next 10 years.
Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.
Easy drinking, and good by itself or with food.
Pinot Noir grapes were aged in (55% new) French oak barrels for 15 months.
13.1% alcohol by volume.
92 points.
$145.

This my first visit to this wine for several years. The 2011 ‘Evenstad Reserve’ Pinot Noir was aged in French oak for 13 months prior to bottling in April 2013. Needing more than an hour decant to fully develop, the wine takes on some toasty oak aromatic character with a nice combination of red and dark fruits on the nose, alongside lighter forest floor tones. I really admire this nose. The mouthfeel is quite generous as the wine still reveals light tannins. Red currant jelly, red raspberry cordial, black tea and peat moss flavors all beautifully mingle. This elegant Pinot Noir has evolved beautifully and still has a long life ahead of it. Drink 2019-2026- 92

light ruby, some bricking at the rim; cherry, thyme, caramel, charcoal; tart red cherry, red currants; light bodied, lean, good acidity, very light tannin, 13.1% ABV; although decent wine from a disappointing vintage, not worth $105, would drink now

A wonderful wine-really hit the spot. One of those delicate but complex wines with fruit, earth, mineral and acid- was friendly with food and drinking on its own.

Not wowing me. Bramble and raspberry compote. A little sharp.

(Domaine Serene Willamette Valley Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir 2011) Classic Oregon PN aromas of earth and spice. Low viscosity, delicate acidity, with ripened cranberry and orange rind finish. 'Tis the Season!

This is fantastic! So light and airy on its feet but expansive in the mouth all the same. Dried cranberry, vanilla, oak, and dried herbs complimented by a whif of cotton candy on the nose.. long finish, leaves a lasting impression.. great intro to dom serene.
