Domaine Vincent Paris
Les Côtes Saint-Joseph Syrah
Warming nose of breadlines, smoked meat, and a touch of iodine. Bright berry on the front palate. Currant liqueur on the finish. No mid-palate at all. Beautiful wrapping job on an empty box.

Dec 5th, 2018Full concert wine that kept evolving from the front of your mouth to your throat. Intense sharp tannins. Dark fruit integrated with fall forest floor and granite minerals. We visited Vincent Paris and his small family operation back in the Cornas region of the northern Rhone back in 2018 and brought this bottle back after his young son had just finished labeling it. Worth visiting. Right at the bottom of a huge ruin of a near 1000 year old castle.

May 9th, 2018Terroir, terroir, terroir. A little funky burnt earthy aroma with cooling herbs on front palate. Beautiful just picked berry fruits and cherries on midpalate surrounded by whiffs of roasted herbs, a whisper of camphor in the background. Impressive but not the easiest wine to drink right now.

Dec 21st, 2017DDD! Dry, deep and dark. Clean, narrow but lingering finish. Spicy with green peppercorn. Still very young but already very enjoyable. We visited the winery today. The winemaker, proprietor spend over an hour with us. Awesome experience!!
