Had my last 2010 and opened it last night, with a little disappointment. The wine lost its luster and complexity and surely was no longer a $55 wine. The Rothschild family has owned the estate for five generations (since 1868). A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, deep cloudy red with fruit and floral aromas. Flavors of tart cherry and earthy notes, simple and pleasant but not enticing. Tannins were soft, finish was short, wine is past its prime. If you have one drink it yesterday!

Apr 28th, 2018The Rothschild family has owned the estate for five generations (since 1868). A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, deep red with fruit, floral and spice aromas. Flavors of sticky cherry and cloves, good structure and balance with smooth tannins carry to lingering finish. Nice now.
