Ciabot Mentin Ginestra Barolo Nebbiolo

Essential. 5 hour decant. Wonderful notes of roses, tar, shoe polish, licorice root and blackberry. Orange oil. Palate staining front to back with fine coating tannins. No hurry here. Absolutely lovely.

Dense and extracted. Plenty of new wood. Malaga. Creosote. Grilled game. Purposeful if not easy. Long.

Bold but open and ready to drink, young, not terribly complex at this point but very enjoyable.

Beautiful nose… and even better on the palate.
Dark fruit, cherry, licorice & smoke.
Delightful Barolo! Extraordinary wine!

Earth and leather nose, some moderately ripe black cherry on the nose. Heavy tannins, great acidity, fruit still present and nicely ripe, good tea leaves and roses. Needs a bit more time to get the desired tertiary notes.

Sep 2023: closed, it took two hour extensive aeration in decanter to wake it up. No sign of aging, fresh, bold, taste and nose as in a very nice Clerico (modern) Barolo, young enough, keep longer, will get a couple of points higher

Lovely perfumed nose with a lot of nuance. Ripe red and black fruit and spice but impeccably balanced by acidity and tannin, drinking great now.

Wow. I've had this bottle for years and just selected it at random tonight. It's really delicious. Tobacco, leather, dark fruit.
