Drinking well now, this has pretty good structure and acids for an ‘18. Dark macerated cherry, spice, and low-toned earthy minerals on the nose. Vigorous in the mouth, with acids, alcohol, and tannin jockeying with each other for primacy. Clingy dark cherry and savory minerals on the palate. This will easily keep and improve over the next 5 years.

Dec 10th, 2024This is exceptionally good. Nose has ripe pomegranate and zingy dark cherry fruit, a ton of liquid minerals, a nose-tingling chalk dust note, spice, and mahogany furniture. Lots going on. In the mouth the minerality is intense, accompanying dense bone dry cherry extract. Tightly-wound, unusually for an ‘18, there is lots of fine-grained tannin and intense acids. Really enjoyable for its athleticism right now, this will age beautifully.
