A blend of 82% Cab Sauv, 10% Malbec and 8% Petit Verdot, showing aromas of currants, black fruits and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of blackberry preserves, black cherry and plum with hints of cacao, cedar and vanilla spice. Fully body, great mouthfeel, firm expressive ripe tannins, lingering finish ending with fruit, spice and a touch earthy. Very Nice! Wow!

The main reason we visit Napa every year the first weekend in February is to attend the Trilogy Release Party. Trilogy was the first “nice” wine I had that opened my eyes to a difference in $15 bottles of wine and well crafted wine. Our 4th year in a row to attend!

This ‘15 at pop and pour was actually a bit of a turn off...muted and didn’t express itself at all. After 30mins in the glass, it changed dramatically. Soft fruits of blueberries and plums with toasted oak, licorice, and sandalwood. This reminds me of a more restrained version of the ‘12.

Deep and dark purplish ruby red. Layered nose with notes of vanilla bean, anise, cinnamon, cassis, blackberries and more baking spices. A little dark cocoa with some air. Medium plus tannins (6.5/10) and full body potential. A little spicy on the palate with lots of red and black fruits. Notes of cinnamon and sweet spices too. Long and lingering finish. Still just a baby that will improve with a few months, even years in the bottle.
Drink till 2030. (91+)

Back in CA attacking the cellar...not remembering where I acquired this but really enjoyed! Haven’t followed this winery for awhile but probably should. I don’t think I have any more of this.

Needed this tonight. Going to drink the whole thing solo. A beautiful purple color, a seamless round bouquet of blue/berries, vanilla and cedar, and a hint of trailing cherry. I get a bit of cinnamon on the palate, with follow through from the black fruit. A slight hint of white pepper provides a wake up call.

Medium plus bodied. Medium minus acidity. No residual sugar. Pleasant, medium plus tannins.

Maybe I just really missed the United States of America, but to me this is fairly near the top of my scale at 94+ points. 2nd half of the bottle will be paired with my ribeye.
