Munjebel Terre Siciliane Bianco Carricante Blend

2018, opened in 2025. Delicious, golden almost orange hue, fresh fruits and citrus nose, balanced tannins and acidity, Etna crushed stone, juicy and super easily drinkable, yet still complex and interesting.

Notes of hay and yellow fruit pastry and tempura surprisingly open up over a surprising lack of pure fruit on the nose at first, though it opened up with some warmth and time. Starts with a palate of fresh cut grass, then evolves with notes of pear and a dry, heavy minerality. A medium body, and a lingering finish of something I can’t quite identify. Comes across almost as a Chenin. Very complex, very different, and very interesting, in a good way though.

Natty, saline, food friendly. Find a shellfish pasta or cacio e pepe.

2018. Popped and poured to have with Indian spiced chicken breast/fragrant basmati rice. The initial aromas reminded me of Jura/pale sherry and it paired great. After dinner, the wine opened up and gained viscosity and I wish I had more!
