Lovely wine. Obviously California big zin with a ton of fruit and body but really nice tobacco, savory herbs, and some dirt. The acidity balances out the big fruit flavor. Classic IMO.

I totally scored at the Safeway 50% rack. 2014 Frog's Leap Zin for less than $12!!!! I got 3 bottles. This is a lovely Oakes Zin with some pepper, and fresh fruit (blackberry and cherry). Very smooth tannins with high acidity. Definitely still a young wine.

Deep and robust character, less fruit character than than a licorice and somewhat smokey body. A joy with filet mignon, mushrooms, and a Barolo reduction.
