You’ll have to look far for a Napa Cab of this standard at the modest price of ye good ‘ol Frog’s Leap, which does not leave you wish for anything more. The ‘15 is showing a wonderfully ripe, dense and energetic fruit profile aligned with the well placed oak profile and trademark dusty graphite complexity. Round and ripe textured tannins with a nice grip is bringing the palate throughout a long, though not exceptional

Overripe black cherry, licorice, potting soil, clove. Lengthy is an understatement, coating is thorough, even, smooth.

Restraint, balance, approachability and value- all very hard to find from Rutherford AVA.

Blackberry, cherry cola, cassis, eucalyptus, licorice and oak. Great structure and quite tannic.

Originally founded by the Williams Family in 1981 on a spot along Mill Creek known as the Frog Farm. A blend of 78% Cab Sauvignon, 13% Merlot & 9% Cab Franc, aromas of rich fruits, spice and floral notes. On the palate cherry, raspberry and plum flavors with leather spice and sweet cacao tones. Rich firm tannins give this wine backbone. Lingering finish ending with great mouthfeel of fruit and spice. Nice! Tasting Sample!

Opened a few days ago in the Northwoods of Wisconsin while visiting my boy at college. Spent a few days with him and the family making some memories. I didn’t try then, but it’s good. A bit of sugar on the pallet. Worth the price and will finish the rest with a Opus X.

Tasting good right now with years ahead. Very fresh nose with violets, cedar, plums, pepper, and a bit of baking spice. Palate is much more dense with cherries, a bit of raspberry jam, pepper, cedar, some dusty rock. So restrained for a modern Napa cab. There is a bit of oak but very much a tiny accent. Also unheard of 13.8% ABV. I wonder how many 2015 Napa cabs are under 14%.
