This was spectacular: the tannins are just perfectly integrated at this point: at 14 yrs old still so much red fruit but yet there’s earthy tea and hay notes ever so slightly… intriguing! There was energy but it wasn’t raucous. This was just a super fine sipper with grilled ribeye, mushrooms, and onions. A tremendous wine!

Battle of 2008 with finally a draw. Before dinner definitively the Ovello, during dinner the Bricco delle Viole and after dinner again the Ovello. Both wonderfull wines!

Wow, this is absolutely delicious! Roses, bright red cherries, lavender, and spices. Exquisite balance. So delicious now, but I bet it will be even better in 10 years.
